is a year-long program for unbaptized children ages 7
and up. This includes children who did not receive
their First Communion in second grade and/or are
uncatechized.

Preparation for Confirmation should begin when an
individual feels that she or he is ready to learn what
it means to live as a fully initiated member of the
Church community, generally in grade 10 or later. If
that sounds like you, this is what else you need to
know: Preparation requires attendance at monthly
Confirmation sessions with parent or sponsor(no more
than one absence permitted, except in extreme
emergencies),
participation in Y.E.L.L. Faith Formation sessions
(see
Y.E.L.L. page in brochure for program details), G.B.S.
(Group Book Study - with permission from program
coordinator only!) or Catholic school. In addition to
these sessions all Confirmation students are required
to perform a minimum of 20 hours of social justice or
cummunity service activities and attend one of two
Risen Savior weekend retreats. This is a big
commitment of both time and energy, but if you truly
enter into the experience, it willpay off through a
stronger, more owned faith and a meaningful
celebration of Confirmation - the final initiation
Sacrament.
Anyone younger than grade 10 who would like to
consider preparing for Confirmation MUST speak with
Denise Lutz before registration.
Retreat dates and the date and location for the
Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation will be
announced as they become available.
Confirmation registration fee includes
Confirmation sessions and the weekend retreat.
FEES WILL GO UP TO $125 STARTING JUNE 1, 2008!
When registering for Confirmation you must also
register for Faith Formation Y.E.L.L., unless you
are enrolled in a Catholic school.

G.I.F.T. (Growing in Faith Together) is a family-based
program which supports the role of parents as the
primary faith-formers of their children. Parents who
have participated in this experience have enjoyed
increased confidence and personal growth in their own
knowledge of the faith while sharing with their children.
The G.I.F.T. Program consists of three components:
One: At Home Lessons
These are parent-led, family-based, multi-aged lessons
from the Faith First At-Home Guide. The lessons are
designed for all children in grades K through 8
enrolled in Risen Savior programs, so your whole family
can learn, pray, and grow together.
Two: Student Books
Kids complete the chapters in their books each month
according to the G.I.F.T. schedule. Each month,
students are asked to compete review materials from the
assigned chapters.
Three: Monthly G.I.F.T. Sessions at Risen Savior
Monthly large group sessions for parents and children
are held at the church. These sessions will include
prayer and song, presentations, activities, and crafts
designed to support the themes that families have been
learning at home. These sessions also offer a chance
for families to connect and experience fellowship with
each other.
